Nacho Varga attended the University of New Mexico. He grew up in the area, so it was a natural fit. Nacho did not make very many friends in college. He completely immersed himself in his studies, as a Psychology major. He graduated with a 4.0 GPA, and was the top of his class. The rest of his time was spent on football. He came into college as a very raw prospect, but quickly distinguished himself as someone who was willing to commit to the grind of becoming the best receiver he could possibly be. He started off as a secondary at best option for his QB in college. His freshman stats were anything but impressive, but that did not deter him. His offseason in between freshman and sophomore year was legendary. He hired a personal football trainer who allowed him to use his raw athleticism to enhance his football ability. His routes became crisper, his hands became more sure, and his football IQ grew leaps and bounds. By the time his final year came around, he had become one of the top prospects in the country. Nacho's stats showed he could go toe-to-toe with any cornerback in college. He knew he had a long way to go to become elite, but he showed the first steps during his college years.
