My time in college was a blast, though the college experience did not start off quite as well as I would have hoped. Because of my long list of injuries in and before high school, a lot of Division I schools were not super willing to offer me an athletic scholarship - the biggest team to offer me one was actually Monmouth University in the FCS. I had bigger ambitions though, and my academic performance in high school helped me a ton as I got a full ride to Rutgers' School of Engineering. I was able to walk on to the football team, and after playing well in the Spring Game I entrenched myself a permanent position on the team. Slowly but surely, I made my way up the ranks and played a variety of positions, including as a running back, wide reciever, and even defensive back. I also played a little bit of quarterback on trick plays, since I did play a little there in high school. Probably the best decision I ever made was deciding to stay my senior year and get my Master's degree, as not only did I leave school with it but it also let me shine in the S16 draft class rather than the talent packed S15 draft class.
