Well I love runnin’. I wouldn’t trade in bein’ a runnin’ back for any other job on the team. There is one guy whose job I’d really love on top of my own, Vladimir Fyodorovich. He can run like the devil and he’s really agile, so he’s in as our punt and kick returner, the most important job in football. I returned kicks and punts all the way through high school and at college at Bama. I returned them both playing for the Tijuana Luchadores too. So, I really miss it. It’s been such a big part of my game that playin’ just isn’t the same without it. Coach says that guys with better agility outta be out there, and that just ‘cause I can run real fast doesn’t mean I’ll be the best returner I can be. I get it, Fyodo is agile as hell, and he won’t get as burned out as I will, but I still miss it. Once you’re past that last defender and just have open field in front of you to the end zone, there’s no better feeling in football. Hell, my biggest regret to date was getting tackled on the one-yard line after a 97-yard return. I’ve still never gotten a return touchdown in either the DSFL or the NSFL, so I’d love to have the opportunity.
