1) Playoff prediction
I'm going to review the Ultimus game between the Philadelphia Liberty and the Arizona Outlaws. Both teams enter the championship game as relative underdogs in their respective conferences. Arizona finished the season 7-6, and was seen as a heavy underdog to the dominant Otters. With an incredible performance in the conference championship game, they completely dominated Orange County, outscoring them 31-3. Philadelphia on the other hand, also finished 7-6 during the season, and had to face the 10-3 Wraiths in the first round, and the 10-3 Butchers in the conference championship match. They handled both opponents in close games, and advanced to the Ultimus game.
My prediction for the game is the Liberty win a close one, 24-20. The teams are evenly matched, but Arizona has the home field advantage. I predict Philadelphia will overcome this for a few reasons. First, their QB Adriana Falconi has had a huge season this year. The QB has been tearing defenses apart in both the regular season and the playoffs, and I don't expect it to stop there. Reese had a solid, if somewhat underwhelming season this year, and I think that can be the difference in this game. Vander Jones and Farley Hank have both had really nice years, and I think they can be a part of a balanced attack that beats the Outlaws in the Ultimus.
6) Our Time
In this category, I want to talk about why the Liberty will win the Ultimus this year. Let's go over the defensive side of the ball for Philadelphia in this matchup. I think Reese is going to have a hard time moving the ball in the air against this Liberty defense. The Liberty secondary has played really well, especially considering the loss of some key players in the offseason. Emondov Emoji will line up against Brock Landers, and I think he's in for a tough day. Emoji has been a beast this year, leading the league in passes deflected, to go with three interceptions. He'll also have plenty of help over the top with Richard D'Attoria and Lennox Garnett anchoring the secondary as safeties. These two have combined to be one of the best safety groups in the league. Garnett is peaking, and D'Attoria has really started to make a name for himself. Landers and Irving had really nice seasons, but I think they'll have their hands full getting separation from this group. Landers possesses near top speed and endurance, but does not have the greatest hands right now. He'll need to haul in every catch to give his team the best chance to win. Reese has taken a slight step back this year during the season, but has really stepped up his performance in the playoffs, including the route of the Otters in the previous game. He's a wily vet who will give make the Liberty work hard for every stop in this game.

7) Next Year
The Philadelphia Liberty lost the Ultimus in a game vs. the Arizona Outlaws, sadly. The game came down to the last play, so I want to explain a little why I think Philly should be the favorite to be back and win the Ultimus next season. I'm going to primarily focus on the offseason acquisitions in this section. First off, is the outstanding running back Marquise Brown. He has been the best RB in the league for most of his career, and he'll be a really nice addition for the Liberty, who are already loaded at RB with Vander Jones and Farley Hank. Look for Brown to get a large share of carries, and for Vander and Hank to be more involved in the passing game going forward. Zapp Brannigan retired, so they'll need to spread his targets to other members of the offense, in order to make up for his lost production. Next, the Philadelphia Liberty acquire stud LB Gekyume Stokeley. He was taken by the Chicago Butchers in the expansion draft, and is one of the premier linebackers in the league. He decided to take his talents elsewhere after a decent season in Chicago that ended with them losing to the Liberty in the playoffs. Gekyume will fill in perfectly for a linebacker corps that has been anchored by an IA Rock Hardshaft for some time now.
All in all, I expect these offensive and defensive additions to be enough to push the Liberty over the edge in next season's Ultimus.
