Next Year
This last season was Shady and mine’s first season as General Managers of San Antonio. We were able to make our locker room more active, getting players excited about the team and staying active through the season. We had the best runningback in the league, Ashley Owens. We had a really tough defense that put their heart into every drive. Despite having zero active players returning from the season before, We managed to eek out a 7 - 7 record. We’re not a losing team!! We suffered a playoff loss to TIjuana. In fact we lost all five games this season against Tijuana. That is not going to happen next year, it will be different.
We have a veteran Quarterback returning to lead the team, and expect a few of our key defense players will remain with us as well. Making sure to draft only the best players from this next r/nfl class, We will be able to lead the San Antonio Marshals back to DSFL domination. With both Norfolk and Palm Beach returning as human teams, it means that the league will be even more difficult. However we are ready to get our team ready and excited for the season and win next season’s playoff game.

I will be spotlighting S15 player Brock Landers. Landers has been incredible for Arizona, He has allowed the team to open up both the passing and rushing attack for the teams offense. Despite having only the 15th most TPE for a wide receiver in the league, in fact several S15 wide receivers currently have more TPE, Lander produced the 8th most receiving yards in the league. This continues the trend he started his rookie season 8th most receiving yards in the league that year too. He has stepped up and become a vocal leader for the Arizona Outlaws pushing them all the way to an Ultimus victory. He will continue to have a bright future with the team, and be a great advocate to get Free Agent targets to sign with Arizona instead of somewhere else. It is truly amazing that only three season after switching from QB to WR he is now an Ultimus champion, and enters an esteemed group of S15 players that can say they have a ring. Congrats to Brock Landers for making this team a competitive opponent that can keep the rest of the NSFC in line when Baltimore doesn’t make it to the Ultimus.

It is rough sitting on the sidelines after just a season before I was hoisting the Ultimus Trophy with my teammates. This season was a treacherous slugfest that I think Baltimore ended up on the wrong side of luck. We took an early season loss in week 3 to Liberty at home despite being the overall better skilled team. We traded games with YKW and Butchers, and then lost again to Liberty which was followed up by a home loss to San Jose. WIth only a few games remaining we weren’t looking good as Liberty held the tiebreaker over us. We even beat eventual Ultimus Champions Arizona in Week 11 to keep our playoff hopes alive. We barely eeked a win out against New Orleans in Week 12 and had to face Orange County to finish the season while Philadelphia had a nice home game against Austin. It was like destiny insisted that we miss the playoffs. In almost every game we lost, we had above 50% win rate. At the end of the season, according to the TPE Tracker, we have the strongest Defense and the third strongest offense, yet we only had the fifth most points for and was third lowest for points allowed. In both categories we should have been better based on TPE.

This is your 3rd(?) Season as KCC GM, what do you enjoy the most in the GM process?
I enjoy the draft process the most and meeting new people. Always fun to have an active locker room that wants to win as much as you do.
Despite losing in the playoffs, what stands out the most from this season?
So you just had to rub it in huh? Just kidding. This biggest standout part about this season was the activity in our locker room. At least 7 or 8 people were consistently in our locker room chatting about the games, stats, and where they might be drafted. It’s been really great to have such a solid group of guys to work with.
What feature of the KCC locker room is your favorite? Do you have a minibar like Dugan does at Tijuana?
In the KCC locker room we have a nice lobby where people from all over can stop by and chat with the players and staff. Somehow that traitor Numbers is in there but it’s still fun nonetheless.
How do you feel about the NSFL allowing a polar bear(Quenton Bode - terriblehippo) play in the league?
I’m happy to see the league be inclusive for all beings. There’s also a Goomba in the league if I’m remembering correctly. Apparently DSFL GMs are better managers than Bowser.
