15) Going to Disneyland!
Written: Who was the Ultimus MVP? Give us a rundown of their celebratory trip to Disneyland, or describe how they celebrated.
In true Disney fashion, the Mouse treated the Arizona Outlaws to a heroes’ welcome. The day began with a historic parade down Main Street, U.S.A featuring cheerleaders, marching bands and a truly impressive amount of confetti. Mickey Mouse led the way as the football champions marched in celebration of their Ultimus victory as Walt Disney World Resort.
After their parade, the team enjoyed a full day at the most Magical place on Earth. Guests report seeing the team enjoying all the Disney classics: pineapple dole whip, Mickey shaped pretzels, and fresh churros. The team even took time out of their day to make dreams come true for others, stopping to take photos with eager fans in front of Cinderella’s castle. Jeffery Murphy led the team in concurring Disney’s mountains, taking on Space Mountain first, then moving on the Splash Mountain. The team elected to stick out the long wait for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, taking the time to chat with park guests and enjoy the Florida sunshine. They concluded their magical day with front row seats to the evening’s firework show. The Disney Imagineers had one final treat in store, finishing the show with a final salute to the team: a volley of red fireworks lighting up the night sky.
19) The Big Fellas.
Written: Write about a Defensive Lineman in the playoffs, and how they will or did affect the outcome.
The defensive line stands stalwart and strong, and too often without proper thanks. These giants deserve to leave an impression in our hearts and minds just as much as the quarterbacks. In considering the Arizona Outlaws and their journey to winning the Ultimus, let us take a moment to consider one such defensive linemen: Marc Spector.
Standing at 6'5" and weighing in at around 300 pounds, Spector is certainly one of the big men on the field. This defensive end showed us right out of the gate that he was ready to go to work for his team, getting his first tackle within the first minute of the playoff game against the San Jose Sabercats, and managing to gain another before the end of the game. In the Outlaws’ next game against the Otters, Spector put forward his best work of the playoffs, managing three tackles as well as a forced fumble and recovery in the first quarter. The final feather in the cap for Spector was his sack of G. Showbiz in the third quarter. In the finals, Spector closed things out with another two tackles against Philadelphia.
In the celebration of the victories, let us not forget the thiccest of our brethren. Marc Spector, well done.
