1) Playoff Predictions, Reviews:
Playoffs were pretty snooze filled again. There were only 2 games that really mattered. The rest were the same old sim rigging we see every year from HO. The first interesting game to review is YKW vs the Chicago Butchers. Obviously this game should have been close as YKW is notorious for falling apart in the playoffs on home field. Well, luckily for them, HO stepped in and sim rigged so the score wasn't even close. But looking at the stat sheet reveals a different story. Mike Hockherts blew up the YKW offense recording 13 tackles and a couple PDs. Without HO, YKW was done for. Well, sadly, HO likes OCO more than YKW. Another year where the leagues best loses the big game and OCO takes home another trophy. It's getting old and tired to watch the league favour one team more than everyone else. But oh well, still a good game. Just a shame that the leagues two best offenses put on such a snooze fest. We should really deserve more as fans. We came to watch Armstrong and Bigsby air it out and set records, not silly defenses and punts. Nobody likes punts. And in a 16-10 games, there are a lot of punts. 207
3) All about the QBs
One area where I think Chicago was somewhat comparable to YKW was at QB. Yes, I know everyone humps Bigsby's leg non stop as the best QB in the league, but QB was the one position where YKW didn't completely blow CHI out of the water. Rose Jenkins is a capable QB and has the power of weebs and waifus on her side. Without anime, the whole CHI team would crumble, but Rose can harness all the virgin energy in the LR and produce some pretty competent performances. And watching Bigsby put on a stinker in the Ultimus made me realize that if he would have played that way against CHI, Chi would be in the finals on the back of Jenkins. It's not like either QB blew the game out during this quarter final match up. Just if Jenkins was a little better or Bigsby was a little worse, it's a brand new game where anyone could take and YKW would continue their playoff futility. Again, if HO didn't step in and force win the YKW into the finals, I think the league would see how good Jenkins is. Unfortunately, HO doesn't want to promote the CHI lifestyle, so we will never see the light. 207
5) Stupid Tiebreaker!
This is an iffy one because technically the Butchers did make the playoffs but the got the Wraiths instead of the Hawks because of the tie breaker with the Yeti. Well, what an absurd tie breaker. CHI wold have dusted the Hawks like nothing and waltzed their way to a more intense YKW anxiety inducing match up that YKW would likely fall apart and lose conference finals. Well, in the regular season, we smashed the Yeti and they scraped by us in overtime in the second game of the season. Does this constitute a tie breaker win? In my opinion, no. We deserve that 3rd seed no question. The Yeti were an over time away from basement dwelling with the stinking Liberty, and we know how bad the Liberty are. The fact that they go from Liberty level of play to the 3rd seed because of an overtime fluke play should not be allowed. CHI have grinded out an entire season of consistent play and the Yeti have done what the Yeti always do. They sucked, but just barely enough to stay relevant. We should not reward teams like that. We need to reward the future of the league, and that is CHI. Everyone else is living in the past. 210
7) Next year
Well if you've read this far, you know the Chicago Butchers are dominating the league next year. The draft is gonna be loaded with talent, we already have a great core and Rose Jenkins is a under valued and under appreciated QB in the league. She could carry any team to the Ultimus no problem. Sure we lost some aging vets this year and Jackson departing in the off season for poor reasons was unexpected, but it's not like SJ SaberCats are an actual threat to anybody. It just cleared a roster spot for someone with actual talent to come in and make a difference. Look at the YKW game. We outplayed them. HO rigged it and then YKW made the finals. If you take away HO meddling, CHI is in the finals this year and we weren't even at our max power level yet. We are still climbing and any fools out there that doubt it just watch. Then you'll all be clamouring to sign here in FA and we can pick people who never disrespected us. All you nerds doubting us will wish you were us. We are fueled by anime and anger and nobody will stop us until we caress our waifus and the Ultimus in bed at the same time. 214
