This is the season Douglas Quaid has been waiting for. After being just a three star recruit out of high school and playing four seasons at Utah State he has dreamed of starting at linebacker for an NSFL team. If the DSFL is any indication we could expect Quaid to be one of the top defensive playmakers this season and for years to come. His speed, IQ, and strength in the middle of the Yellowknife defense will be a nightmare for opposing offenses. As a rookie he gained experience by playing strong safety, but linebacker will be his home for up to the next twelve years. This offseason he made incredible gains in the film room. His play recognition improved astronomically leaving the coaching staff with no choice but to start him at middle linebacker. There’s no reason why Quaid can’t compete for a pro bowl spot. He’s going for 120 tackles, five sacks, and two interceptions. That could possibly put him in the conversation for LB of the Year, but that award mostly goes to strong side LBs with high sack totals. The ultimate goal however is to finally help the Wraiths end their Ultimus losing streak and pull off a win. Fifth time will be a charm. (209 words)
