This season is a new opportunity for Rando Cardrissian to show he belongs as the number one back in San Jose. The next step after getting some surprise recognition as a leading candidate for Offensive Rookie of the Year is to reach for Breakout Player of the Year. That would start with breaking out of the shadow of Quindarius Tyerucker and proving he deserves a bigger number of touches. San Jose started off Season 22 with the two sharing carries. It'll take him better performances than 43 yards off 15 carries. Even if he doesn't outright snatch the leading back role, the team feels like a marked improvement already with a strong defense who just needs a better offense to support them. His next goal would be to help possess the ball more and win games that would swing San Jose into postseason contention. With the offense being the weak link, the passing game would receive a huge shot if he could improve his game more and even offer himself as a viable passing/checkdown option. In general, he needs to work with the team better and fit their scheme smoother. With better focus in training, the power back can make himself more useful in the long drives and especially be a force in the red zone and near the goal line, where the Sabercats so often fell short in Season 21.
