Luca Scabbia's career in the DSFL started with a lot of disappointment. Falling so far in the draft when you think you have what it takes to help any team is difficult to swallow. What should have kicked him down instead lit a fire in him and gave him motivation to do all he could to help the team that finally selected him, the Dallas Birddogs.
Dallas had a difficult year last season. Despite doing better than almost all the NFC North teams offensively, they found themselves at the bottom of their own conference, the NFC South, and missed the playoffs after losing their four last matches of the season.
Luca thinks he'll be able to help the team offensively in an arguably stronger conference. He'll share most of the duties at his position with second season veteran Mike Lee. Instead of trying to outshine his teammate, he'll learn as much as he can from him and show the football world that he shouldn't have slipped this far in the draft. He's not eyeing any award for himself or any record. He just wants to see Dallas get a chance in the playoffs and hopefully make it all the way to the Ultimini Bowl.
