Doug Howlett, esteemed retired professional rugby player for the New Zealand All Blacks, has always been a fan of the American Football League. After undergoing reconstructive age surgery and being returned to his physical age of 19 he has set goals to be a dominant force in the DSFL.

Taking it one step at a time, he has taken on the role of a receiver for the Luchadores. When questioned about the transition from rugby to gridiron he had this to say "In rugby I played Wing. The role I look to play for Tijuana is similar, I am coming into this organization to be that speed guy on the outside. I " (Source, 2020). Howlett was asked what is in store for him this year? "I hope to crack 1,000 receiving yards. Just need coach to let Ben rip loose and give us the opportunity. This is the year I prove the haters wrong."

Howlett was also queried on his thoughts of the teams performance last year and his predictions going forward. "Yeah we lost some great talent to the NSFL expansion draft but we only JUST missed out on making playoffs. We had an amazing draft and we picked up some great talent all round. I got drafted 60th overall. How I slipped so far is anyone's guess but the connection Ben and I have is incomparable, we gone make playoffs, we gone make Ultimini and we gone bring home that trophy. Doubters of today will be fans of tomorrow." (Reference, 2020).
