New season and new goals. Last season season was a rather quiet one for Dawkins who was part of a much improved secondary for the Portland Pythons. With the prospect of being called up at the end of the season, this could be very well the last opportunity that Dawkins will have to contend for the Ultimini. Ultimately, that is the goal, to end the year hoisting the Ultimini as part of what hopefully is a championship caliber team with Portland. Having tasted defeat in the playoffs, Dawkins is eager to get back to the playoffs and win a playoff game with the Pythons.
As far as individual goals goes for this season, Dawkins is looking to build upon last seasons performance. This season will see Dawkins return kickoffs, something that he didn't do in his rookie year. With this opportunity, he hopes to be able to score a kickoff return touchdown and finish the year averaging 20+ yards per kickoff return. On defense, Dawkins would like to capitalise more on errant throws and record at least 3 interceptions. Continuing on from last year, recording at least 3 or more sacks is something that Dawkins is hoping to achieve having worked on building his strength this past season. Some other goals would be to force a fumble, record a pick six and block a field goal or punt.
