After gaining his first experience of professional football in the DSFL last year with the Kansas City Coyotes, Matthew McDairmid fell up short both in terms of individual and team success. Losing out on the Punter of the Year trophy to Sam Sidekick and being on the losing side of the Ultimini against the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers, there were a lot of things Matthew felt as if he could have managed, but just missed out on. Now in the NSFL with the Sabercats, the main aspiration for Matthew this season is to stake his claim as a top level Kicker/Punter in the league system today. Normally, team success would be the first thing McDairmid would want to focus on; however, with how the Sabercats team he is on now is currently set up, he understands that playoffs and Ultimus appearances are things that will likely come further down the road. If the team were to shock the world and make a playoff run, he would be rather excited by the concept; however, due to the low chances of this occurring, the focus shall be on individual greatness. As a rookie, the best thing Matthew is hoping for is that he can challenge for a rookie Pro Bowl appearance and be nominated for an award like Punter of the Year at this higher level. However, in the stacked ASFC conference with great Kicker/Punters like Powers and Alex D., McDairmid will have to be at his best through all games to have any chance of nomination.
