Every kid who plays football has a dream of playing in the Ultimus and winning it. I, for one, also have the same dream. I failed to even make it to the playoffs and ultimately, the Ultimini, last season when I played for the Luchadores in the DSFL. It was a disappointing season, to say the least, as I was hoping to at least achieve something team-wise as I was not accomplishing much individual-wise. Just being in the locker room during a playoff game would have been insanely fun and exciting. But alas, it was not meant to be for Tijuana. Well, the playoff does not seem to come anytime soon for me as my NSFL, the Butchers, are winless and dead last in the league. It was quite expected as we are rebuilding and my teammates and I are working hard to improve ourselves individually to eventually become a force in the league. So with the Ultimus and the playoffs pretty much out of reach, I set myself a realistic goal for this season. Well, two goals actually. Given my increased playing time now that I’m with Chicago, I want to have at least 5 rushing touchdowns this season. I was able to get two in my DSFL season but getting touchdowns in the NSFL has proven to be much harder. I have zero as of now but I believe I’ll be able to reach my target of 5 touchdowns. My second goal is to have at least 500 rushing yards. I had 78 rushing yards with Tijuana last season so I want to at least get more than that. So far I’ve accomplished that and with Chicago’s improved O-line play, I’m confident I can get that 500 rushing yards. I’ll be going back to this post at the end of the season and see how I stack up against these goals.
