My player has very modest goals honestly. He is a true DSFL rookie, and knows he has a long way to go before being one of the best in the game. That being said he does want to be getting respectable numbers. I'm not looking for awards yet, but I want to be a player who no teams can write off in game plans. I hope to finish with at least 40 tackles this season, and maybe aim for 10 combined sacks and tackles for loss? I think that is a reasonable goal.
I do have one other goal though, and for a defensive lineman it might seem like a very odd one, but it is my goal nonetheless. I am hoping to lose a lot of weight this offseason! I know I know, being big is basically what I am paid for, but still, I want to try and be at a healthier body weight so I can live long after my playing days are over. CTE is already enough to worry about without having to worry about diabetes! People have warned me that if I go through with this plan, the team might not want me to play defensive tackle anymore. Thats ok with me! I know that if I lose weight, I will still be able to compete at the pro level. Just slot me in at linebacker or cornerback and watch me do my thing!
