It is true that Skywalker dominates on the field, but when there is time to spare, Luke spends his free time on a different field. Every morning, Skywalker goes out into his backyard and spends at least an hour with his garden, tilling the ground, adding in another scoop of fertilizer or manure here and there, getting rid of the pesky weeds and the occasional slug that seems to want to feed on the growing onions. Luke loves his little garden and makes sure to water it daily and give the plants words of encouragement (and the occasional scolding. After reading “Good Omens” by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, Luke became intrigued with how Crowley raised his ferns, and started including gentle to severe scolding to the plants that are failing him). Luke plans to raise enough food to feed a small army, or at least a family of four, with any and all meals that can be prepared with lettuce, onions, rosemary, and peppers (so mostly salad).
Luke also enjoys some time in the kitchen, where, due to the lack of yeast available in grocery stores, Skywalker has started growing what he calls his gridiron baby, a glass jar of sourdough starter. While the baby is still in development, Luke has high hopes that within a week or two, he will have enough starter to bake delicious sourdough to share with his team.
