(S22) - PT3 - Boom or Bust

Worst draft pick of all time? That is a really difficult one to talk about. I guess my immediate thought went to my own draft a long long time ago. It was the S3 draft and I was a fairly highly touted rookie and I expected to be drafted decently high and I was excited by that prospect. I was a linebacker which was a decently important position and I got along well with people. I was a really close friend with Bayley, who I expected to be taken by San Jose in the first round. As it happens, they had back to back picks in that draft and I thought how awesome it would be to be taken by them along with Bayley. Instead of me, San Jose opted to take Iyah Blewitt, a kicker. While I don't doubt that he was a solid kicker, kickers tend to not have a huge impact on the game and he probably didn't do them any favors in terms of winning. As it happens, San Jose had to wait for a title until S14, long after Blewitt was presumably off the team. Bayley and myself both ended up hall of famers and it would be interesting to see what two hall of fame defenders could have done together for San Jose at that time and maybe San Jose could have won a title much earlier than they ended up winning it.
