I will toss Noah Goodson’s hat into the circle for worst first overall pick. Goodson won a championship and was a pro-bowler twice, but the linebacker did not live up to the hype of 1st overall. Drafted to Arizona when they were on a good streak, but ended up having major controversies. Goodson maxed out at 648 tpe. He was the 1st ever DSFL draft pick. I wanted a lot more out of Noah Goodson, but unfortunately did not put in the hours at the gym. I am not sure how this affected the franchise, as Arizona eventually traded Goodson. It was a weird time where Goodson did not necessarily want to leave, but was unwilling to commit long term to the Arizona management, scaring them off apparently. Therefore, it’s like that Arizona’s fanbase does not hold their Season 4 1st overall choice in high regard. Nonetheless, Goodson had a memorable career winning the Ultimus with Baltimore, spending time in Yellowknife and then closing out his career in New Orleans. The reason I consider this as one of the worst 1st overall picks is because of the importance that draft pick had for a franchise about to be engulfed in controversy. This pick was really important for Arizona, and ended up not being the best choice.
