Alright, Boom or Bust, this PT is about overall bust that we believe have happened in the league. As a new player and a pretty active but low key one. I had to do some digging and go through the wiki, ask my GMs and veterans for some information. So if I'm not entirely correct here, I apologise in advance.
But I believe a bust is someone that either a team wastes a pick on and they leave early in FA, PO, or force a trade. Or someone who is drafted high and underperformed at that draft location. For this segment I have settled on a former pick of my San Jose Sabercats. That player would be Marcella Tōriki, she was drafted fifth overall by my cats back in 2033 draft. She started slow, was given a bigger role and did well but unfortunately exercised her PO and left for NOLA. Now this is where I say she is 1.) A bust for us because spending a fifth on a player to have them leave after one year is definitely a hole to fill on your team and a big blow. Now I don't know the back story here but either GMs made a mistake with the contract or were blindsided by this move either way. A tough loss to take for our cats.
After the move she had a standout year with 240 Carries 1093 Rushing Yds 7Tds 20 Catches 104 Yds 5Tds. Which makes this more of a bust for the cats. After this Marcella had a subpar year compared to her sophomore season with the secondline. Only getting into the end zone 3 times and just over 900yds. Finally her last season she bounced back to a similar standard as her spohmore year, little more prominent in the passing game but overall solid
Then things personally I believe led to her early opt of her San Jose contract. And like I stated before, draft busts aren't always about performance. For the Cats, this was about having a Fifth overall walk out on you after one year at a very prominent position. Having to fill that hole again definitely hurt the growth of that team. Luckily, the cats have bounced back and our a bright spot in the NSFL this year and plan to be for years to come
