Worst pick award would have to go to the Yellowknife Wraiths for their selection of Kicky Bobby (Kicker) in the 2nd round (16th overall) in the S17 draft. While he may have had the perfect name for kicking, Bobby never really showed more than that. It was quite a reach for the Wraiths to draft a borderline kicker in the second round, especially with five others available to draft. To further illustrate what a blunder this pick was there were two kickers drafted in the final three picks and Yellowknife actually drafted another kicker with the final pick in the draft. When they took Kicky Bobby at 16, wide receiver Action Jackson (currently of San Jose) was still available and has gone on to become a 653 TPE player who was logged on today. Not sure if the current leadership for the Wraiths was in place during S17, but we certainly hope they have learned from that draft day mistake. One may excuse the Wraiths due to the smaller draft classes and maybe there was more pressure to try and land an active kicker, but Jackson could end up a 700+ TPE offensive weapon in the league and a IA kicker who is currently a free agent really looks like a bust here.
