One thing that sports stars are know for is the often quite ridiculous level of endorsements a player gets. A lot of people label them as selling out or willing to put there name on just about any product. While this criticism is certainly legitimate for various athletes, it certainly is a blanket statement that doesn't always ring true. Mason Blaylock has had his fair share of advertisement deals over the years, but only ones for products he would genuinely use. Some people have made comments about his Subway ads, but he genuinely eats there at least once a week. More recently, ISFL fans have probably seen Mason grace commercials for REI. For that that aren't aware, Blaylock is a huge outdoorsman. During the offseason, he frequents his cabin up in northern Wisconsin. It's peaceful and often times a great way to unplug from technology. REI is a store that Mason fully endorses in more than just commercial appearances, having a large inventory of products from the popular outdoor supplier. A lot of their products are purely about functionality and not looks, which is something that drew Mason to them right away. That's always been the story of his game, functionality over flash. A lot of players care more about appearance and perception than results. That's why the All-pro Safety for New Orleans was the perfect brand ambassador for REI. The quality speaks for itself.
