In my high school days I played quarterback, did pretty well. Good enough for a state championship in California and break all of my schools recorded. But colleges weren’t very interested. I walked on to USC and the coach told me straight up, you won’t start at quarterback, ever. But I have a hunch so I want you to take some reps in camp at free safety. I did and turned heads immediately. My strength at QB was my mind, I didn’t have the accuracy to make it big their. But the smarts were there and they transitioned me well. I could read the offense and make big plays. I knew how to get the QB to mess up because I knew what would have made me make mistakes. I started at free safety as a freshman, and by junior year I had the most sacks by a safety the school ever had, and the most interceptions in school history. My senior year was ended early with an ACL injury that resulted in me missing the DSFL draft. Im thankful Minnesota took a Chance for the player I was before the injury, and they haven’t regretted it. Lucky for them I’m just getting started. Now that I’m in top form there is going to be some records breaking pretty soon quote me on that.
