Halloween in New Orleans is one of the best combinations around. The city is rich in lore centered around voodoo and dark magic. As such, Halloween is perhaps the most popular holiday of them all here. The absolute best place to check out all the spooky goodness is the French Quarter. There are endless decorations and attractions to intrigue all levels of Halloween goers. There is a dedicated festival specifically on the voodoo side of things. The music, food, decorations and costumes there are some of the most unique in the whole world. I'd be lying if I didn't say that it spooks me when I visit. There are also a ton of haunted houses and even haunted tours covering areas as big as whole city blocks. Perhaps the best part about Halloween as an ISFL player is the chance to blend in for a day. I tried being clever and go as a football player one season, but that was a major backfire. Since then, I've learned to always involve some sort of mask or face paint that covers up my face. As much fun as it is to be recognized in public at times, it's so much nicer to just enjoy yourself and not worry about any of that for a day.
