Richard Gilbert spent the majority of his Halloween weekend out partying. While playing in the International Simulation Football League makes him a bit of a local celebrity as it does with any other player, Gilbert’s newly found success this season has opened a lot of doors for him and has made him into more of a household name. Jumping up from a near irrelevant running back statistic-wise in the past couple of seasons to arguably one of the top backs in the league in the current season has been quite an adjustment. The extra attention has been nice, but being recognized on the street so often is sometimes not the most enjoyable. Gilbert also hasn’t forgotten where he came from. While he spent the majority of the season celebrating in Denver with his friends and teammates, he continued down south of the border to visit his old team in Tijuana for Dia de los Muertos. This season has brought a lot of changes to Gilbert’s life, and while he’s making sure to take full advantage of what’s being offered to him, he also remembers that he needs to keep working to stay on top. Because while he has jumped out way ahead of where he has been in the past, there’s still room to move up even higher and have a more impactful career.
