Having already locked up the battle for the number one seed in the ASFC, the Orange County Otters have one last potential fight on their hands before playoff action begins next week: the fight for the regular season championship. At 11-4, the Otters are one game back from the 12-3 Colorado Yeti of the NSFC in this fight. With one game remaining and both of these teams on the road in week 16, this fight is still either team's to claim victory in. The Yeti certainly have a clear advantage having the one win over OCO though, critically, the Otters hold a 15-point lead in points scored on the season. Thus, if OCO can take home the road game against the Austin Copperheads while the Yeti fall to the Liberty in Philadelphia, they will find themselves tied in overall record and conference record with Colorado with no head-to-head matchups this season between the two teams to break the tie either. That would force the standings to the points for tiebreaker, which I pointed out earlier OCO only needs to keep at least a -14 point delta between them and Colorado. All said however, I find it less likely for Colorado to lose to Philadelphia than I do for OCO to defeat Austin, so we'll definitely need the stars to align in our favor to gain the upper hand in the match that all fans of great football teams should be looking forward to: a Colorado vs Orange County Ultimus. The teams haven't met this season and have shown themselves to be the favorites in their conference by a good margin, so it truly feels like the matchup has been destined to happen all season.
