If you were going to be upset if Frick and Hall took a better offer from Austin instead of sending you to Berlin why didn't you specifically ask to be traded to Berlin rather than to one of Austin and Berlin?

Because if Berlin's deal sucked, we didn't want them to purposely take a bad deal. We wanted to make sure they had the chance to acquire a good deal if a team came in and offered something INSANE that completely swept Berlin. But Berlin offered to match them, which is easily just as good, 2OA or not.

Picks now > picks later, earlier (projected) 1st round picks > later (projected) 1st round picks. Austin's offer was better. Did you tell Frick and Hall that you only wanted to go to Austin if they offered something 'INSANE'? 

Saying in the OP that it was "between" Austin and Berlin for you guys makes it sound like you found the teams pretty comparable. This feels like something that could've been prevented with more communication.

I don't disagree about the communication part. I can say we made it clear to them that Berlin was the team we wanted above all else, but we didn't want to be selfish and demand our way there. We figured that they would have put more consideration into our wishes. So yeah, as I said in the OP, it was our bad for not asking what Berlin offered, but they also made sure not to say what Berlin offered - which they told Berlin they did, knowing full well we would have told them to accept Berlin's deal. Had any of the above said flipped, at least this trade fiasco doesn't happen.
