I feel like PBP filled a need of creating excitement when watching the streams weren't the norm.

PBP is great hype for a game if one person spells out the play by play for everyone else instead of just saying the game outcome.

I feel like it's comparing watching a football game live on TV vs listening to it on the radio. If you can't watch it on TV then radio is a fair substitute, but one of these is obviously better.

bold statement, I prefer the radio over the TV. You get a lot less filler (Fitapatrick going to harvard doesn't need to be said every game).
