While Cole Maxwell's first love is certainly the game of football, joining the ISFL actually wasn't Plan A for his life. During his years at the University of Oklahoma Cole studied engineering and played on the football team for the scholarship opportunity to pay for his education, fully expecting to enter the workforce in either the gas and oil or the aerospace field after his graduation. Instead Cole was able to make big waves on the football field and made the decision to pursue that passion, but in the alternate universe where he was in fact actually quite bad at the sport then Cole would've followed his interests in math and science to complete his senior year at Oklahoma and receive his diploma and degree. The job market would be a whirlwind of interviews and self reflection, as Cole would need to decide between creating a career in the sky working in aerospace or underground working in oil and gas. Eventually the bright blue of the skies would win out and Cole would go on to enjoy many years working as an engineer on various aircraft, ranging from commercial planes to fighter jets. While he would still lead a happy life, he likely wouldn't make the same kind of money that comes with an ISFL contract
