If Nick L. Back had not decided to gamble on football, his life might have been even more successful. You see, as a teenager, Back was fond both of music and of football. But with time passing he was forced to choose a career between the two and the prospect of football was more attractive at the time. Had he chosen to follow his musical aspiration this is probably what would have happened;
Finding playing the guitar and singing not too difficult, Back finds a few like minded people and forms a band. Ever the pretentious one, the band is forced to agree that Nickelback sounds like a good name. The band finds their sound in rock and alternative rock music. The initial gigs go well and the band rises to fame in Canada and internationally over time. A bit of drama later and Nick L. Back decides to change his name to Chad Kroeger to avoid confusion between himself and the band name. Over time, the band pumps out more and more generic music and break into stardom through the power of memes. “Photograph” and “Rockstar” become cult classics of wannabe rock music. Back, now Kroeger, is a global sensation and meme at the same time.
