Player Retrospective Profile
Siaosi Multiauaopele knew what his career would be from a young age. When he first joined a Pop Warner football league in Waipahu, Hawaii at 5 years old, Multiauaopele was convinced that he would one day join the game in the professional ranks. With an aptitude for the game and a natural athleticism that shined bright early, it was also clear to those watching him in middle school and high school. So it stands to reason that the young man had to give the question, “What was your fallback option if football did not work out?” a great deal of consideration.
“My major at Brigham Young University was Environmental Science,” responded Multiauaopele. “My family placed a large emphasis on respect for nature and protecting the world for the next generation. If football was no longer in the cards, I believe I would have pursued a graduate degree in Environmental Science. For a permanent career, I would look to join the US Department of the Interior in either the National Park Service or the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement. To be completely honest, I hope to be involved with the DoI once my career in the ISFL comes to an end. I do hope that won’t be for quite some time though,” he said with a laugh.
