Some people have a lucky charm, like a rabbits foot or a gold chain(watch out for Talib.) Some people always do the same dance or have a special chant. Some people use an unknown substance that may or may not be steroids(*Cough* Josh Garden and Chris Orosz*Cough*), but apparently the NSFL head office isnt looking into it for some reason.
Zhang, however doesnt really have a pregame ritual or a trinket to bring him good fortune. Most of Saturday is spend training, watching film, or at home playing video games/watching old reruns of hows like How I Met Your Mother and Burn Notice while eating some food he cooked up or some takeout.
When asked why, Zhang responded. "I was never one for the mystics or fortune. I always believe that what you reap is what you sow. Yes, it is true that it is sometimes better to be lucky than to be good, but I've always went out there and balled the hardest I could. If its not part of my control, I wont worry about it."
Still, there is one thing Zhang always does pre-game. At Michigan State, every game, he would ask the punter to line up at the 10 yard line and punt it as hard as he could, and Zhang would run after the ball. If he caught the punted ball, the offense knew that Zhang would be feeling it that game.
