The time before a game is a truly sacred ritual for Denzel Diaz. A couple hours before a game, he begins to rev up mhis energy with his music. He slips on a set of headphones and turns on some 50 Cent, Wu-Tang Clan, or the more recent A$AP Mob or Famous Dex. Music is important in Denzel's pre-game process. The music needs to be blaring, drowning out the sounds of the locker room and locking him into his pump up time. Next comes the usual quick prayer before Denzel heads out onto the field for warm-ups. He makes sure to head out onto the field earlier than the others, just so that he can stretch and warm himself up for the upcoming gridiron battle he's about to go through. Diaz makes sure to keep his legs feeling fresh and loose, usually singing along to his plethora of music choices. As the other team makes their way onto the field, Denzel gives them a quick glance, surveying for the players he's watched on film. The linebackers, defensive line, safeties, eyeing them up and assessing them. After stretching and making sure he's ready to play, Denzel goes to the center of the field and looks over to the opposition, giving them a dirty, mean stare, his mind processing the looks that they return, the words that might be shouted at him. He's processing them, making them the enemy, and putting him in a mindset not to play, but to fight, with every ounce he can muster.
