When Oles answered the phone, it was a voice he never expected to here. John Harbaugh was calling, and they were offering Oles a tryout to join the Ravens. This was a dream come true for the young CB, as he grew up watching the Ravens, and a chance to play with his now favorite player Eric Weddle would have been a like a dream. When Oles got to the tryout, it was anything but a dream. As Oles was running a 40 for their scouts the worst thing imaginable happened. The day he dreamed of for so long ended as soon as it began, a devastating non-contact injury that could have ended the career of Oles, before it ever had a chance to begin. If you would have told Oles he would tear his ACL, MCL, and PCL all while running, something he does every day, you would have been laughed out of sight. Oles never thought something that devastating could happen just by running, and to happen on a day that was supposed to be the greatest day of his life, it just seemed like a nightmare. Who knows where Oles would be now if this injury never happens, but after rehabbing it, and finding his place with the Liberty, it seems more like a blessing than a curse.
