For Trey Willie, the first call for an NFL tryout came in early April. It’s a phone call Trey remembers all too well. The call came from the head office of the Chicago Bears. He said, listen up Trey, we are about to commit draft day suicide so we’re going to need to find us some additional Talent outside of the draft. Trey was quickly flown out of his current Residence Inn Orange County to The Practice Facility in Chicago. During the try out, Trey showed flashes of his Speed and Agility they had a little trouble with drops as his hands were not up to the professional level. Trey was offered a position on the practice squad for Chicago where he would have the opportunity to prove himself and work his way up to the starting roster. Knowing what kind of dumpster fire the Chicago Bears franchise has been and will continue to be, he graciously declined and flew back to Orange County to await the NFL draft. Looking Back Now, this seems to have been a smart decision for Trey. Although he had to leave his home in Orange County, he was drafted in the top 10 by the Baltimore Hawks. Since being drafted, he is moving up the Hawks depth chart and is poised to have a great rookie season.
