Chris was offered a tryout with the Chicago Bears after their rough patch of games with Glennon under center. He flew into Chicago and was put through his paces by the team and the front office, asked later he replied "I think I did pretty good, There is always room for improvement, but I think I made a solid showing, maybe 7-8 out of 10." The press was invited to watch and more or less agree with his assessment. He showed agility in the pocket, a knack for throwing on the run, and an ability to thread the needle into some tough locations. Some worried he wouldn't be up to the task, with the NFL being a much tougher league to play in over the NSFL. Chris met those challenges and exceeded them. One might worry however if he could be the quarterback on a team with their QB of the future (Trubisky), An injury problem, and already in week 3 being down to their original #3 through #5 receivers being promoted to the top of the depth chart. When asked about this Chris responded "Yeah its going to be a big change, but Im not worried, as we all know, Yellowknife has had their fair share of drops *laughs*, and I know some of that is my fault for putting the ball into bad places. But I am always working on becoming better at those types of throws."
