It doesn’t matter what his team’s record is, it doesn’t matter who the opponent is, Nicholas Pierno treats every game the same way. With his outspoken personality, Pierno made a name for himself as the best hype man in college football. A firm believer in sports being just as much a physical challenge as it is a mental challenge, Pierno takes pride in making sure all of his teammates are dialed in by the time the ball kicks off. With a perfect 5-0 record in overtime games while he was at North Carolina State University, a lot of that had to do with his ability to give his teammates that last little ounce of energy needed to secure a victory.

In Colorado, Pierno has been no different. Despite being one of the youngest players in the locker room and posting mediocre statistics, he still is the one breaking down the Yeti after every single huddle, giving speeches to fire up the fellas the one jumping around the locker room just before kickoff, the first one to congratulate a teammate after a big play or the first to provide encouragement after a bad one. This season, it’s been a challenge to know where Pierno’s passes will fall, but you always know where his head is.
