Offensive Comparison: Compare one offensive player from each team in a series. Can be completed at any point
Today I will be comparing a wide receiver from each team in the playoffs. Those players are: Robert Phelps, Dustin Evans, Trey Willie, and Fox North. First we start with my good friend Robert Phelps. Phelps is currently second in yards, touchdowns, and receptions. He has 411 TPE up until this point. A very impressive number indeed. Listed as the number 2 receiver in the Orange County Otters depth chart, he is a number one on any other team. Next up we have Dustin Evans of the Arizona Outlaws. He coincidentally also has 411 TPE currently. He is ranked tenth in yards, tied for 13th in touchdowns, and 12th in receptions. Now his numbers may seem low but that’s just because we started with the second best wide receiver in the NSFL and he is on a team that runs more than passes. Not too many can compare to that of Robert Phelps. Dustin is still an elite player and when he gets the ball he makes the most of his opportunities. Nest we have Trey Willie, former Orange County Otter, current Baltimore Hawk. He is not only a Baltimore Hawk, he is a ball hawk. He ranks seventh in yards. He lacks in the touchdown area but it has shown that he gets his team to the red zone and lets his team do the rest. He doesnt need the credit of the touchdown, he just wants to help his team win. Last and not least, the second best wide receiver on this list. Fox North. His fifth overall in yards helped bring a playoff birth to the Liberty. He found the end zone 8 times and has a great 17.4 average. He will find himself in the probowl this year.
Root for the Underdog: Pick an away team in an upcoming game and try to convince yourself (and us) why they can win. Must be completed before the playoff series you write about
There are many underdogs in this league when you compare them to the Arizona Outlaws. So the team I bring to you today would not be an underdog in another division or if the Outlaws simply did not exist. The perennial second place team in the ASFC, my own Orange County Otters. The Otters bring it all to the table. They run different strategies per opponent and have very dedicated front office staff. But it always comes down to the Outlaws. This year the Otters have the greatest passing attack the league has ever seen. Mike Boss and his wide receivers are putting on a show for everyone to watch. Just in time for them all to get new contracts too I might add. While the defense of the Outlaws is the best in the league by far, their weakest point is their secondary. This is not to say that it is bad, it is far from it actually. Their front seven is just the best period. So the Otters will take advantage of their amazing deep threats and stretch the field and test how good they can actually be. It may just open up that front seven enough for the rookie erlich burnsman and leroy jenkins to take full advantage.Keep your defense off the field and keep theirs guessing.
Matchup Nightmares: Pick an offensive and defensive player who will be going up against each other and why it will be a nightmare for one of them. Must be completed before the playoff series you write about
There are many times that a player will out perform another. Here is an upcoming matchup that you will want to see. No doubt at some point in the game you will see the matchup of myself, Bradley Westfield and Arizona’s Franklin Harris Jr. Harris in his rookie year is coming of a great statistical year but it pales in comparison to the league leader in so many wide receiver statistics. The Orange County Otters with Mike Boss at the helm are monsters in the passing game and Franklin Harris Jr. is going to have his hands full (not with footballs) and opportunities limited. We have battled each other in games during the regular season before and know each other well. Using all of my attributes I will welcome him to the playoffs for the first time. I will be playing to get my team to the promised land and for the Ultimus. I will give it everything I have to take us to the next step. No matter where I line up or who I am lined up against, they will see a prolific game and they will not be able to stop it. Harris, I will see you in the endzone. I will have the upper hand in this battle.
Playoff Series MVP: Choose an MVP for one of the playoff series and write about why you chose them. Must be completed after the playoff series you write about
In order to choose an MVP of a playoff series one must not look any further than Trey Willie. The Hawks and Liberty battled it out on the Hawks home turf. The aviary I believe it is called. Trey not only was a beast in the game he set some records in this game for most awesome. This is a game that will define the rest of his career. He recorded not 1, not 2, but 3 receiving touchdowns. On those 5 passes he gained he was able to get in the game he took them for 117 yards. That means on just 5 passes he got 3 touchdowns, that is insane. Trey amassed an impressed 23.4 average per catch. Stormblessed was able to match most of these statistics but was held without points as he didn’t make it in the endzone. You may think to yourself, ok that was a great game, but was it amazing… close. What else do you have? Plenty actually. He also had 2 kickoff returns for 109 yards, one of them was a 103 yard touchdown return. This guy accounted for 24 of their 34 points. Last but not least he did not allow any of the passes his way to get intercepted. This was an all star debut for the young receiver.
Playoff Review: Write a short review of the playoffs and each of the matchups. Must be completed after the Championship Game
Today I bring to you the playoff results and how I see them. The first matchup we have is the Orange County Otters versus the Arizona Outlaws. This is a battle of titans. They are such good teams and have the talent everywhere so it was interesting to see the Otters get demolished. I was informed that the sim file did not have the Otters strategy in place and that there was a resim. The Otters lost the resim as well but I heard that the Otters made a better game of it. But since the results were the same we get a demolished Otter team in a blowout victory for the Outlaws, 27 - 7 in favor of the home team. Next set we have up is the Baltimore Hawks versus the Philadelphia Liberty. Congrats to the Liberty on being the first expansion team to the playoffs! The Hawks were dominant in the season and the Liberty just kinda won. The rest of the teams in the NSFC made it easy for the Liberty to just walk in. As expected the home team Hawks came away with the win in another landslide victory 34 - 3. The Hawks would go on to lose to the Outlaws in the Ultimus game 49-12. Another blowout victory by the home team. All in all it was another season and another Ultimus for the Outlaws, who are now 3 for 3 in the Ultimus Cup in the first 3 seasons of the NSFL.
