Offensive Comparison: Compare one offensive player from each team in a series. Can be completed at any point
The first game between the Otters and the Outlaws was one that was going to be a star-studded game, especially on offense. One of the key pieces was going to be the Otters' Phelps and Westfield. On the other side of the offense, Evans, Chess, and Law are going to be the real guys to focus on. In this game, it was a lot of what everyone was going to expect from these players. On the Outlaws side, it was Evans who had 5 catches for 105 yards as well as a Touchdown. Chess, on the other hand, had 4 catches with 123 yards, Law was the big recipient as he had 8 catches to lead the entire Outlaws team for a total of 56 yards. These guys are definitely a three-headed machine and needed to be limited which for the most part, were not. Phelps for the Otters had 102 yards on 5 catches. Now, Phelps was kept without a Touchdown which had to be a win for the Outlaws. Westfield also had 5 catches for 98 yards and a touchdown. I believe that this was the difference. The Outlaws were going to a bend but not break defense. They limited them to only 1 touchdown also Jenkins to not even a carry. Boss was definitely limited which limited the two receivers.
From the Championship game between the Outlaws as well as the Hawks, there was a defensive showdown that really caused the difference between the game. On one side of the ball, it was Franklin Harris Jr. who had the game of his rookie life. On the other side, it was Harrison who had a fantastic game as well. Both teams pretty much kept the offenses under wraps, but it was the Outlaws defense that pretty much decided the game. Harrison had 7 tackles and 1 pass deflection. These two were definitely important plays on defense as Harrison seemed to be around the ball a lot. On the other side, it was Franklin Harris Jr. that had the game of his life. He had 7 tackles, 3 Pass Deflections, 2 Interceptions, and 1 Touchdown. What a game. It seemed like when there was a big play except for the 12 sacks in which the Outlaws had, it came from this guy. You could not believe that the guy is only a rookie. This guy has a huge future if he is going to play like this in the big games. He showed up this season and this game was no different. Defenses wins Championships and this game showed that.
Out of the teams that did not make the playoffs, I think that the Yeti and the Legion have the most cause for struggle in the upcoming seasons. The Legion was hoping to get some reinforcement in the form of Brian Cushing, but that deal got voided after the Legion were caught going over the cap in prior seasons. What is the big problem for the Legion? How about the fact that they only scored 199 points and gave up 444. In other words, only the Yeti scored less points and they gave up the most points by almost 70 points. How are you going to win games when you are giving up that many points a game? You should not seriously expect to win with that kind of ratio. The second team was that of the Nick Pierno. Pierno is a guy that absolutely struggled throughout the season which definitely put this team back. I think that he will absolutely will pick it up and the future looks bright. That opposed to Bercovici who has really his days numbered in a Vegas jersey. I definitely also think that you are going to have to win on the road in which neither team was able to do effectively. Yeti had no wins and Vegas had just 1. When looking at the two teams, they definitely were not even close.
The MVP of the Championship game had to be Franklin Harris Jr. of the Arizona Outlaws. Franklin Harris got the Outlaws out to a 14-3 lead which they never turned back from and turned out to be the winning points in the game. 49-12 was the final, so that touchdown was the real winner in the game. When you look at Franklin Harris Jr.'s game, he had 3 pass deflections, 2 interceptions, 1 touchdown to go with his 7 tackles. This had to be one of the performances of not only the game, but also of the playoffs. There is a chance that he may even be the MVP of the entire playoffs. This game shows what Arizona is going to get used to. Franklin Harris Jr. was a steal in the Season 3 draft by this performance. He has the cold blood written all over him. Is there anything else that he can do? I think this guy deserves all the credit, so he gets the game ball for the Championship game. Franklin Harris Jr is the MVP and should be looked at as a huge part in the Outlaws future moving forward. This was a great pick and he definitely deserves the ring.
I definitely think that there was one series in which wrote the book for the Championship game. It started with 4:23 remaining in the first quarter. The first play was a drop back from Kyubee as he found Trey Willie, another phenomenal rookie for 4 yards. He was tackled by Phillipe Carter. The second play saw a hard count by Kyubee which caused Godfrey King to jump offsides which made it 2nd down and 1 yard from the Baltimore 28 yard line. Kyubee then dropped back on 2nd round as he gets SACKED by Godfrey King who makes up for that bad penalty. That made it 3rd and 8 from the 21 yard line. Kyubee drops back, he goes for Stormblessed... PICKED OFF! Franklin Harris Jr jumped in front of the ball that was intended for the speedy wide receiver. This was at the 23 yard line! He brings it back to the house. Kyubee tried to make a dive at his feet, but there was no way that Kyubee was going to catch Franklin Harris Jr.. Ronaldo made the extra point to add to the lead! This was the turning point in the game that ended very much one sided.
