Perspective: Silver Fox, Liberty GM
Well, the low point for me at least this season was the loss at the Hawks, week 4 this season. We’d just come off a disappointing tie at the SaberCats, which was a game I was expecting to win. Rove was having a lot of rookie growing pains, and it was becoming clear that our offensive line improvements weren’t enough to make a significant difference. We’d lost all four preseason games, and 3 of the first 4 regular season games. I had to keep reminding myself, trust the process, trust the process.
The high point so far is right where we’re at. We won 8 of the last 10 games, enough to clinch a playoff spot. We even won against the Yeti at their home week 8, which was a surprise win for me, but it made up for that tie against the SaberCats. While Rove still takes too many risks, he’s certainly started to back it up with results, and I couldn’t be happier with Fox, Paul, Damien, and Budda catching the ball. Even Omar has been pulling off some longer runs, helped when Kamaka switched to OL. It looks like we’re a stronger team than the Wraiths now, and the Yeti imploded during the season, so we just need to take down the Hawks and we’ll be in good shape. We won’t be dominant in our division unlike the Outlaws, but we’ll certainly make it interesting.
