This offseason has been a tumultuous one for William Ridley. Being traded just after draft day to the Yellowknife Wraiths distrusted Ridley’s offseason workouts. Ridley’s attention soon turned to finding accomodation, meeting with the Wraiths head office, and settling in to Yellowknife. As we inch closer to training camp Ridley has got into the swing of Yellowknife and has established a program with the Yellowknife strength and conditioning team to improve his power. Knowing last season he could improve his takedown time on opposition players, Ridley has made it a priority to be able to take players to the ground faster than in his rookie season.
Ridley has also spent a significant amount of time getting to know his Wraiths teammates. He had made no secret of his desires to be a leader in the locker room and on the field, and this first step is getting to know his new teammates and seeing where he fits in with the team. Ridley is very excited to start offseason activies with the Wraiths, get padded up in training camp and voluntary minicamps, and various other activities held by his teammates, and can’t wait to hit someone when preseason begins in earnest in a few weeks.
