Charlie did a lot to prepare this offseason. The first was to watch tape of all of his plays and take extensive notes on what he did right and what he could improve on. He also sent a few ideas to several of his offensive teammates based on things he'd noticed. He watched extensive tape of opposing linebackers, corners, and safeties. He even took time to watch tape on one of his own corners and linebackers, all things considered.
When he wasn't watching tape, he was doing cardio. Despite all the work he'd put in to get ready for the NSFL, he still didn't feel fast enough and he still didn't feel like he was as good as wanted to be late in games. In addition to that came the rigorous receiving tree obstacle course he'd had built in his new Phoenix home. It was modeled off the ones they used at Combines, except he'd added extra obstacles, made the defensive structures and placement tougher, and even had a few accessories built that could mimic conditions of snow, wind, rain, and mud.
The last thing he did in the off season was to make sure he took part of a day every week to go out and about in the area he now called home for most of the year. Whether it was going out on the town at night, speaking at various groups and organizations, or just hanging out with his family, Charlie Law was a fixture in Phoenix. People posted photos of him, videos he helped with, phone messages he recorded, and much more.
