In what is likely not surprising given his changing of positions, Avon Blocksdale spent the entire off season working on becoming the best quarterback he could be. Despite being division rivals Blocksdale and Wraiths QB Matt Akselsen (@Bzerkap) worked out together after they both decided to switch positions to prolong their career. The workouts with the two of them were fascinating to watch and it was very interesting to see them become drastically different quarterbacks. They each had a very particular style. Blocksdale became a much more traditional quarterback. He was a pocket passer through and through with excellent accuracy and intelligence, but not all that much movement in the pocket. Akselsen on the other hand looks like the NSFL version of prime Michael Vick. I mean the dude can move. Akselsen doesn't quite have the accuracy that Blocksdale has, but his speed and agility are far superior to Blocksdale that many are saying he's going to be the best QB in the ASFC. With two second year players in the division (Rove and Pierno), it appears that Blocksdale and Akselsen will have the inside track at pro bowl spots in the QB position. They are good friends, and the offseason was good to them, but once they get on the field expect both to do their best to destroy the other one's team.
