Written: Must be at least 200 words, Write about what your player spent his off season doing to get ready for the upcoming season
Oles spent the offseason with a bit of a peculiar training regimen, not training in traditional methods. The star CB was invited to practice and workout with the Baltimore Orioles, his home town baseball team. As a huge fan of the Orioles growing up, from running on the field in a wiffle ball game with the Orioles mascot, to running the bases after a Sunday home game, Oles has grown up with the Orioles. Watching the Orioles go from one of the worst teams, even with players like Cal Ripken Jr, to a surprise playoff contender every season has ignited new life into this fan’s heart. When they invited him to try and an outfielder for the Orioles, after seeing his stellar play in the NSFL, it was like a dream come true for the CB. So he prepared for that, a quick turnaround from working relentlessly on football skills, Oles picked up a bat and would workout with the Orioles hitting coach 3 times a week, while working with the fielding coach 3 days a week. Working on tracking down fly balls, throwing out runners at 2nd, 3rd, and home, and eventually trying to get a home run swing in the CB’s hands, his entire offseason was spent preparing for a possible baseball career in the future. Being around players like Adam Jones, Manny Machado, and Zach Britton was a surreal experience for someone who should be used to the spotlight from his time with the Liberty. Although the team and player couldn’t work anything out, Oles will still gladly be at any O’s event if they give him a call, and has nothing but respect and admiration for the team. The skills he learning tracking down fly balls and line drives are sure to come in handy for the star CB, as he’ll be able to better track the QB’s throws in the future, and the pure sprinting ability that is needed is sure to help him as well.
