It wasn’t to anyone’s surprise to see Alexandre LeClair be on the cover for the first issue of the season of “Nevada Sports”. The magazine has a long-standing tradition of having the most outstanding athlete in the state be the front cover for the first issue of the season. It just so turns out that both the NSFL pre-season and the season’s first issue are around the same time, ensuring that a Legion player is more likely to get on the cover than any other franchise operating in Nevada. Looking at LeClair’s statistics last season, where he ran 1168 yards for 7 touchdowns on what was arguably the worst team to have ever graced the NSFL fields. This had him in contention for Breakout Player of the Year in the league. On top of that LeClair signed a 3 year contract with the Legion. If there was a “Captain” position like in other team sports we have very little doubt that LeClair would be sporting it on his uniform. Other solid performers that were considered included Ardie Savea, the team’s running back and Connor Tanner, who’s performance in his rookie season had him nominated for positional awards.

It is true that they could’ve gone with any new signature on the cover but ultimately the board of editors of “Nevada Sports” decided on having a returning player there as a reference for fans while they get adjusted to the new faces of their franchise.
