When Madden NSFL was coming out there were many possible choices for the cover. The Madden developers decided to use different athletes for each part of the country. In the South West (from Texas through Arizona) they obviously went with NSFL MVP and star defensive player Jayce Tuck. On the west coast it was an easy choice, they went with the best QB in the league Mike Boss. In Canada the developers decided to go with offensive lineman turned QB Mat Akelsen.
Now on the east coast it was a tougher decision as Philly and Baltimore are similar markets. But given Baltimore's success these past two years, and the attention turned to shifting O Linemen they decided to make new QB Avon Blocksdale the cover athlete. We stopped by ask Avon how it feels. "I mean it's obviously a huge honor. I'm excited to be named the cover athlete, but it doesn't mean much, ya know. We've made back to back Ultimus games, but that's not enough. I want to win the Ultimus and hopefully we can do that this year."
So there you have it. The cover athletes are Mike Boss, Jayce Tuck, Mat Akselsen and Avon Blocksdale. I wonder who's game will sell the most.
