When I got the call, I couldn’t believe it. I’m just a rookie tight end. Why would I be on the cover of anything just yet? Me, Carlito Crush? But that’s what they said. The publishers of the National Simulation Football League magazine wanted me to be on the cover of the “Future Studs” issue. When I asked why they chose me, just out of curiosity, they proceeded to explain how they took a long look at all of the top rookies from the newest DSFL class, and a committee of 5 members ranked us based on a few different categories. They were talent, marketability, and it factor. I was the one of the few that every single member had in their own top 3. While my talent is on par with everyone else in my class, I asked about the other things. They said I’m marketable in that not only am I quite tall and my physique is top notch, I have an awesome story with my dad being a former wrestler and that I’m from the Dominican Republic, which apparently sets me apart from my peers. When it comes to the it factor, well, they said that can’t explain that. They looked at pictures of all of the other rookies and just decided that I have the “look” they wanted for a Future Stud cover athlete. I’m not going to argue it. (234)
