Darnell Turner was recently chosen to be the cover athlete on National Simulation Football League Madden 2019. He will be one of the few defensive backs to ever grace the cover of the game, and is the first since National Football League star Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks. He was first approached by the producers of the game, EA sports. They offered him a small but significant sum of two point five million dollars to be on the cover of the game. He accepted, not for the money, but for the ego boost of being on a game he would later play. EA Sports ended up flying him down to Los Angeles in order to create the cover. They gave him a replica of his uniform to wear as he didn't have his own with him. They placed him in front of a green screen and started just throwing footballs to him. He would jump up to make an athletic catch, and the camera would record him. However, this wasn't how they chose the cover. Instead, out of the blue a producer attempted to snag the ball from him but Turner mossed him, than celebrated signaling no fly zone which ended up being the cover.
