The Yellowknife Wraiths "acquired" a new QB this past free agency season, with Mat Askelsen (spelling?) shifting from Offensive Lineman to Mobile Quarterback. The league was taken aback by this apparently bold change, as the Wraiths had Ethan Hunt on the roster at the time, and had just earlier traded away their own pro bowl caliber quarterback Orosz. There were also unsettling reports that Mat Akeslen (spelling?) had undergone some troubling dietary habits in order to cut down on his weight. How would Akselen (spelling?) fare with his new body, new position, and given the fact that he had apparently not thrown a football since high school?
Spoiler alert: Pretty decently actually. Akselsen (spelling?) currently leads the league in completion percentage with 62.9%, and is only two completions away from Mike Boss of the Otters for having the most completions on the year. However, Askelen (spelling?) also has the same number of passing TDs as he does interceptions (7), leading him to have a 79.6 QBR. Askselsen (spelling?) is currently 3rd in the league in QBR, ahead of fellow OL turned QB Blocksdale of the Baltimore Hawks. Akelen (spelling?) rounds out his passing stats by leading all quarterbacks in rushing yards (40) and the longest rush by quarterback (22 yards).
Many were predicting Askselen (spelling?) to be mediocre, but Akelsen (spelling?) has surprised the haters by being a very solid, if not somewhat inconsistent, QB.
