Ethan Hunt, or Gosh Jarden as he's known now, has evolved from a middle of the pack quarterback to a solid replacement for Josh Garden. Transitioning from quarterback to wide receiver was definitely a difficult decision for the youngster, but he has been able to step comfortably into his new role as a quick, intelligent and very agile receiver. While Jarden will never be able to live up to the hype of becoming a franchise mobile quarterback, he can become a solid complementary piece for the Yellowknife Wraiths as the team retools and pushes for the NSFL post-season. He's already notched up 2 touchdowns as the Wraiths' third-string wide receiver.
And Jarden's only just getting started. With a moderate risk but high reward for the Wraiths, the signing has looked solid so far. Rumors of being a locker room cancer, and public condemnations from the San Jose Sabercats management have looked to be blown out of proportion. Aside from on-field production, Jarden brings veterancy and leadership stability to the Wraiths, and has transitioned from aspiring star to someone who's helping to groom the future of the Yellowknife Wraiths.
Could we look back in a few years and acknowledge that the Jarden signing was a good idea? Perhaps, but right now it's still a bit too soon to tell.
