Today I'm going to talk about the best free agent that hit the market.
Vincent Sharpei was really stepping up as a leader in the San Jose Organization and when he declared he was going to hit free agency, it was a pretty big blow to us all. He assured us that he was just testing to gauge interest and see what was up, giving us hope that he would return to the promised land.
The best OL hitting free agency garnered some decent offers, however nothing enough to prevent him from coming back. One thing that probably had a massive impact was the influx of cheap quality offensive lineman being brought in that could replace many of the offensive lineman in the league. This probably prevented him from a huge pay day which is unfortunate. The good news is he is so talented, he resigned with San Jose Sabercats and immediately started preparing to take over as our middle linebacker.
The Sabercats had linebacker issues since day 1. Vincent is now second in league for tackles really bolstering what the solid defensive line and great secondary at San Jose has to offer.
Having their player choose to go to free agency and come back to us felt like a huge win and definitely the best free agency pick up we could have asked for.
